  • 7. How do I know there is going to be someone to support me? Web and Flo has a wonderful support team available to assist when necessary. It is Web and Flo policy to tailor a support package to each individual client, so we don't charge people for services they don't need or want. As the Kontinuum technology is web based, Web and Flo can support the technology from anywhere in the world. Web and Flo can also be available to support onsite if required.
  • 8. Is this an Australian developed product? Yes it is, 100% developed in Melbourne.
  • 9. How long does it take to deliver a solution? This will vary based on the number of stages in the process. A simple 1 form, 10 questions process can be available to staff in 2 hours.

  • 1. What is the difference between Kontinuum and Lotus Notes? Lotus Notes has two core modules, Email Client and Workspace. Kontinuum does behave as an email client but is similar to Lotus' Workspace module. They both create forms and store data in databases but the similarities end there. 
  • Kontinuum is accessible only via an Internet Browser
  • Lotus is accessible via Lotus Notes clients only
  • Kontinuum forms and workflows can be created by anyone
  • Lotus requires experienced programmers to produce forms and workflows
  • The time spent to create workflows in Kontinuum and Lotus is drastically different with Kontinuum taking very little time as no coding is required

    2. Can Kontinuum integrate with MS Outlook and Lotus Notes? Email notifications from Kontinuum can be sent to any email software.
  • 3. What software is required to run Kontinuum? Kontinuum works in two scenarios, ASP or Client Hosted In the ASP model the only software required is a Web Browser. In the Self Hosted model, the following software is required: . Windows XP, 2000, 2003 Server . MS SQL 2000 . IIS 5+
  • 4. What hardware is required to run Kontinuum? Kontinuum works in two scenarios, ASP or Client Hosted In the ASP model no hardware is required as the client applications are hosted in a secure server environment. This environment has state of the art security, the latest equipment and the Microsoft licence fees are borne by Web and Flo. In the Client Hosted model, the following is the minimum hardware required: . Pentium 4 1.2 MHz . 512 Mb RAM . 10GB Hard Drive
  • 5. Do I need a programmer to define my business rules? It depends on their complexity; if the business rules have complex logic then someone with technical expertise may be required. In the upcoming version of Kontinuum there will be intuitive rules wizards that will allow anyone to add and modify business rules.
  • 6. Do I need a programmer to design forms & workflows? No, design forms and workflows can be done by anyone after a small amount of training.
  • 7. How long does it take to design a form and have it on my Intranet? To design one form and create storage for your data, usually takes around 15 minutes.
  • 8. Do I need a DBA to create and manage the databases used behind Kontinuum? No, Kontinuum creates and manages databases automatically.
  • 9. How many users can access each application simultaneously? As many users as desired; if the application is Client Hosted the hardware needs to be adequate for the number of users.
  • 10. Does every user have a username and password? Yes, this allows everyone to participate in their part of the process.
  • 11. Can Kontinuum be used offline (Not connected to the Internet)? No, Kontinuum was designed to harness the power of the Internet.
  • 12. Can I link to with my existing systems? Yes, Kontinuum can manipulate data from any ODBC compliant database.
  • 13. What software is Kontinuum written in? Kontinuum components are written in Visual Basic.NET, which are called through ASP.NET web pages. They only serve HTML and Java script and do not require any Active X components.
  • 14. What Browsers are compatible with Kontinuum? . Internet Explorer 6+ . Mozilla Firefox . Netscape
  • 15. Can I be notified when a Task becomes available to me? Yes, as soon as a web form is completed, if a rule has been set to notify the next person in the process, then an email alert will be sent with a link directly to that task.
  • 16. Can I be notified before a Task becomes overdue? Yes, however you can be notified before a task becomes overdue - much better!
