AND USER TYPE ADMINISTRATION
OVERVIEW
- User Administration is the
first step towards creating a Kontinuum solution
§
Three main aspects of User Administration:
- Adding Users and their
associated details
- Adding User types and their
associated details
- Assigning Users to one or more
User Types
- To administer Users and User
Types log in as a User with Administrative privilege
ADDING A USER
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the User’s folder, in
the User administration tree
- Click on the Users folder
- From the Pop up Menu click Add a User
- A Form will appear in the left
frame
- Fill in the Properties and hit
submit
USER
PROPERTIES
- See below a description of all
the primary properties that can be assigned to a User
Definition
of User Name
- The User Name is the name that
the user logs in as
- This name is also stored in all
database records that the User creates or modifies
- Each user must have a unique
user name
Definition
of Display Name
- This holds the Display Name of
the User
- For example; The User name may
be jbloggs and the Display Name could be Jason Bloggs
Definition
of Display Description
- This can hold a detailed
description of the User
- For example; information about
their roles and responsibilities within the organisation
- This is not a required field when
creating a User
Definition
of Password
- This holds the Password that
the user uses to login to the system
ADDING A USER TYPE
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the User Type’s folder,
in the User Administration tree
- Click on the Users folder
- From the Pop up Menu click Add a User Type
- A Form will appear in the left
frame
- Fill in the Properties and hit
Submit
User
Type Properties
See below a
description of all the properties that can be assigned to a User Type.
Definition
of User Type Name
- The User Type Name is the name
that is referenced internally by the Kontinuum
- For example; Sales and
Marketing might be a User Type
Definition
of Display Name
- This holds the Display Name of
the User Type
- For example; The User Type name
may be ‘S&M’ and the Display Name could be Sales and Marketing
Definition
of Display Description
- This can hold a detailed
description of the User Type
- For example; information about
the Groups roles and responsibilities within the organisation
- This is not a required field
when creating a User Type
Definition
of Workflow Builder
- Selecting the Workflow
Builder option
adds the Schemas button to the left navigation bar for all Users belonging to this User type
- Giving Users the ability to
build and administer Workflow’s in the Design environment
Definition of User Builder

Selecting
the User Builder option adds the Users button to the left navigation bar
for all Users belonging to this User type
§
Giving
Users the ability to create and administer Users and User Types
Definition
of Form Builder
§
Selecting
the Form Builder option adds the Forms button to the left navigation bar
for all Users belonging to this User type
§
Giving
Users the ability to design and edit Forms

of Reports
§
Selecting
the Reports option adds the Reports button to the left navigation bar
for all Users belonging to this User type
§
Giving
Users the ability to view any Reports that they have been given permission to

- Selecting
the Task List option adds the Tasks button to the left navigation
bar for all Users belonging to this User type
- Giving
Users the ability to monitor their tasks for each individual workflow
Definition
of New
- Selecting
the New option adds the New button to the left navigation bar for
all Users belonging to this User type
- Giving Users the ability to
start new Workflows
Definition of Objects
- Selecting
the Objects option adds the Items button to the left navigation bar
for all Users belonging to this User type
- Giving Users the ability to
view all items they have created by each individual workflow

Definition of Edit Profile
ADDING A USER TO A USER TYPE
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the Users area of the
User Administration tree
- Select the User to apply a User
Type to
- From the pop up menu select
properties
- Click on the User Types tab
- Select one of the User Types available
from the list
- If the User belongs to more
than one group click Add New Row
- Select another User Type and
continue adding rows until completed
- Press Submit once completed
USER ITEMS DEFINITION
The User Items tab allows Administrators to add in additional
information about a User
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the Users area of the
User Administration tree
- Select the User to modify add
User Items to
- Select Properties for that User
- Click on the User Items tab
- Add information as desired
- Press Submit to save
information
- This is not a required field
when creating a User
USER
RELATIONSHIPS
The User Relationships tab allows Administrators Users to
add relationships between users
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the Users area of the User
Administration tree
- Select the User to modify/add
relationships to
- Select Properties for that User
- Click on the User Relationships
tab
- Add the user to whom this user
is related.
- Add the type of relationship
- Press Submit to save
information
DELETE A USER
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the Users area of the
User Administration tree
- Select the User to be deleted
- From the pop up menu select the
Remove option
- A confirmation message will be
displayed asking if you are sure you want to delete
- Select OK
- A message will be displayed
saying the User has been deleted
- The User will no longer appear
in the User Administration tree
DELETE A USER TYPE
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the User Types area of
the User Administration tree
- Select the User Type to be
deleted
- From the pop up menu select the
Remove option
- A confirmation message will be
displayed asking if you are sure you want to delete
- Select OK
- A message will be displayed
saying the User Type has been deleted
- The User Type will no longer
appear in the User Administration tree
DELETING A USER FROM A USER TYPE
- Click Users from the top Admin
menu
- Expand the Users area of the
User Administration tree
- Select the User that you wish
to remove from the User Type
- From the pop up menu select the
Properties option
- Click on the User Type tab
- Click on the delete button next
the User Type you wish to remove the User from
- Click the Submit button to save
the change
- This User will no longer belong
to this User Type
